# Wireless protocol

**Which wireless protocol does the OEM Alpha smart system use and what does it do?**

The OEM Alpha Smart System uses the cSP-L**(****cospace** **Local**) wireless protocol and is the most secure type of wireless transmission thanks to AES 128 encryption. It also offers a vast wireless range because 868.3 Mhz and 869.525 Mhz frequencies are used. cSP-L was custom-developed for the requirements of a modern smart home system.

**What the cSP-L wireless protocol does**

1. Exchanges status information of the wireless devices with one another and the IoT gateway for connection to the cloud
2. The cSP-L wireless protocol connects Alpha smartware devices locally with one another and doesn’t have to communicate just via the cloud
3. Therefore, if the internet’s down, it doesn’t mean that the system will fail too because lots of functions can function on their own.
4. Therefore, solely wireless solutions with the cloud are achievable.
