The base station serves…

  • … the connection of up to 8 heating controllers with pulse width modulation (cooling mode via base station).
  • … is certified by TÜV Rheinland 2026 zertifiziert for automated hydraulic balancing and can be used to assist in carrying out hydraulic balancing in accordance with Method B.
  • … the connection of up to 17 actuators with NC (Normally closed) direction of action.
  • … the connection of up to 8 heating controllers with pulse width modulation (cooling mode via base station).
  • .… the connection of a pump, a boiler, a CO signal transmitter, a temperature limiter or dew point sensor, an external timer, for a fixed installation.

Every other use, modification and conversion is expressively forbidden and leads to dangers the manufacturer cannot be held liable for.

Note regarding the integrated control system for automated hydraulic balancing: #

The aim of hydraulic balancing is to ensure thermal comfort without over-heating individual rooms, whilst covering all normal operating conditions whilst using energy as efficiently as possible. In accordance with Section 60c(3) of the German Building Energy Act (GEG), alternative, equivalent methods – such as temperature-based methods – have been permitted since 1 October 2024 in accordance with Procedure B of the ZVSHK-VdZ (German Association of Building Technology) – VDMA technical regulation. The Alpha direct Balance base station falls into the category of thermal balancing (temperature-based methods).

The Alpha direct Balance is certified by certified by TÜV Rheinland 2026 for automated hydraulic balancing and can be used to assist in carrying out hydraulic balancing in accordance with Method B.
It should be noted in day-to-day practice that the Alpha direct Balance does not fully replace the hydraulic balancing procedure in accordance with Method B, nor does it exempt users from complying with the fundamental requirements for hydraulic balancing in accordance with Method B. The base station cannot affect sections of the pipework network located upstream of the heating manifold. It only begins to affect the system from the heating manifold onwards.

Further information, such as technical details, guidance on eligibility for funding, a guide for technicians on carrying out hydraulic balancing using automated systems for installation companies, and TÜV Rheinland certificates, can be found in the chapter Automatisierter hydraulischer Abgleich.
